Suggestions from Speaker 2008

Dear Chris and EarthSave Volunteers and Organizers,

Brenda Davis and I were so grateful to be part of this years Taste of Health and appreciated all of your efforts and the good care you took of us. We loved that Laura was so easy to reach, and so helpful. We appreciate the immense amount of care and energy put in by Chris Yi-Lluoma and by Dave. Thanks for the attention to detail such as airport pickup, and the general helpfulness by volunteers whenever we
needed something.

We have feedback on three specific topics, if you would like it.

1. You might consider changing accommodations for speakers.
Aberdeen B&B - though called a B&B did not offer any Breakfast. It had just one bathroom for rooms on 2 floors. As a result, there was no option to use a toilet for example if someone else was having a long bath. Other residents didn't leave bathroom clean and dry. Aberdeen B&B staff were minimally helpful about initial access to our room, or not helpful at all Guests have to take out their own garbage, and clean the kitchen or else there is a $50 charge (yet there was dust on the TV.) The Best Western near 12th & Kingsway is a good choice and is near the
Foundation, or perhaps there might be a vegetarian B&B in the neighbourhood.

2. Speaker Equipment
A MUCH bigger screen is absolutely essential if showing PowerPoint to over 30 people. The screen should be at least four times as big. A functioning remote mouse is needed and a lazer pointer Water should be already in place for speakers without having to ask several times (there is a limited turn around time, especially when
question sessions are long) Tech team should always check people's computers with av equipment well ahead of presentations to be sure that they work -- not just 10
minutes ahead.

3. Fundraising
Talk with Brenda Davis (Kelowna) and / or Margie Col (Penticton) about fundraising and involvement with leading political / community leaders (open by mayor etc)
We can forward Tobias Leenaert presentation from Dresden

Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this inspiring and overall beautifully organized event.
Love,
